L-Space Swimwear

For the past 10 years as Creative Director and Designer of L*SPACE Swimwear, my goal has been simple: to create sleek, cutting edge swimwear that celebrates a woman's figure. From conception, my passion is to create trend-setting suits that appeal to a broad range of loyal fans and celebrities alike. I have been blessed with such fans as Lauren Conrad, Cameron Diaz, Gwen Stefani, as well as surf enthusiasts and athletes dedicated to my brand.

As a teenager growing up in a small Ohio town, I would religiously spend my winters dreaming of lying on a beach working on my tan somewhere tropical. Fall was a rough time of the year as I watched my bikinis get packed away for the long, cold winter months. It was inevitable that when I was old enough to be on my own, I would move some where I could wear a bikini year around, day in and day out, which is exactly what I did when I moved to Florida at age 18.

For the first few months in Florida, I would spend my weekends on the beach and watch tan bodies soak up the sun in barely there bikinis. The women were fit, confident, and I was inspired. I wanted to contribute to the confidence of women by designing bikinis specifically for mixing and matching body styles, color combos, and prints to create a look all of their own; and from this, L*SPACE was created. Even now, having been in business for nearly 10 years and growing every year, I continuously draw inspiration from my lifetime love affair with the coastal scenes of Florida, and my present home on the So Cal coastline of Corona del Mar, California; and because of this, the L*SPACE collection has been, and will ALWAYS be made in my backyard in The O.C..

I'm self-trained in all things swim. I've always believed that conviction and passion can get you anywhere. My goal with the collection is to have wearers develop their own personal style which is why I offer an array of mix and match options and fits.

My collections are known for riding the cusp of surfer-chic and fashion forward, and I have been lucky enough to be recognized in both the surf industry with 4 consecutive SIMA (Surf Industry Manufacturing Association) Awards for "Swimwear Brand of the Year," and also in the fast-paced world of high fashion by being honored with the title of the first "Mercedes-Benz Presents Designer of the Year" in Miami in 2010.

With further plans to expand the L*SPACE experience including accessories and apparel, I continue to strive to be one of the foremost designers of luxury swimear for every mood and occasion and strive to make the world a more beautiful SPACE.

L Space by Monica Wise The 2012 Collection

Love. Life. Luxury. Lounging. Whatever your "L' may be, L*Space by Monica Wise delivers stylish silhouettes, bold statement prints, an eclectic color palate, and a summer-getaway worthy collection of loungewear for 2012. Known for designing curve-enhancing styles with the primary focus on the detail, L*Space is all about turning heads. Inspired by the great outdoors, the new collection fuses nature with its pure energy of organic elements and color.

NEW STYLES

Designer Monica Wise pushes herself this season by introducing 22 NEW styles! From dainty bottoms with smocked soft side tabs (Fancy Free bottom), an innovative new soft cup push up top (Mimi Top), new hardware details, and bandeaus with removable straps for more or less support (Adia Bandeau), and L*Space's coveted fringe pieces; which are back with an updated bikini halter style in new colors, all round out the new collection.

NEW COLORS & PRINTS

"Apricot" orange, "Citrus" yellow, "Iris" purple, "Tiffany" blue, and neutral "Taupe" round out the new colors for the season. Each easily pairs back to at least 4 different prints and encourages mixing to create a one-of-a-kind look.

With nature on her mind, Monica chose prints that emulate her love for the outdoors and tropical destinations. From a glowing desert morning with skies filled with fuchsia in "Desert Heat", color injected palm leaves with an exotic twist in "South Beach", water colored florals in "Fleur Du Jour", the serenity of breezy beaches in "Wind and Sea", and the eclectic shores of "Ibiza" the 2012 collection is filled with a mix of wild colors and natural tones to satisfy every bikini-istas palate.

NEW "L"OUNGE WEAR

The 2012 season makes it even easier to don L*SPACE by introducing 6 new pieces of loungewear. Lace makes a big debut in this collection with the dainty "Sweet and Chic" short, L*SPACE's version of a chic Dolphin Short with an all-over lace style in ivory and black. Throw on the slouchy off-the-shoulder "Victorian Tunic" with all-back lace detail and you've got yourself one sexy summer staple. L*SPACE takes fringe to the next level with the new "Ava Poncho". This gypsy-like tunic with fantastic fringe detail is the perfect throw-on when the scorching sunny days become cool and breezy nights. L*SPACE also introduces 3 new "Camilla Dresses" - a strapless printed chiffon long dress that opens in the front and 2 "Wild Side" printed chiffon beach pants that can easily be thrown on over your favorite L*SPACE suit. Last but not least, the crochet "Casa Blanca Tunic" with bat-winged sleeves is the perfect piece to complete the loungewear collection.
